Melissa oversees research at Purple Patch Arts, working closely with the Purple Research Group to plan and deliver a range of inclusive and participatory research projects.

Melissa submitted her PhD thesis about the outcomes of creative learning experiences at Purple Patch Arts to the University of Leeds in September 2023.

Alongside interests in music and the arts and a Masters in Applied Psychology of Music, Melissa is experienced in supporting learning-disabled and autistic people to share their views and experiences.

Outside of work, Melissa is a singer and community choir facilitator. She enjoys baking, spin classes and is a big fan of musicals!
