Andy Clow

Andy has been the Chief Executive of the Youth Association since 1999. He has served as a director of Connexions West Yorkshire, a public governor of his local hospital trust and is a director of Your Consortium Ltd. He lives in Rotherham, is married to a teacher and has two grown-up children. His hobbies include watching Rotherham Titans and long-distance trail walking.

Alison Van Der Wert

Alison is a recently retired lawyer, having practised firstly as a Solicitor, then a Barrister and latterly as a Deputy District Judge for over 40 years. She is the parent of two children, the youngest of whom has learning disabilities, and who accesses a number of activities relevant to his needs, including a Purple Patch programme. She is a volunteer Citizen advocate for Leeds Advonet and a Trustee of Leeds Mencap. In her spare time she enjoys swimming, yoga, cycling, and listening to live music of all sorts.

Carley Stubbs

Carley works at the University of Leeds as an inclusive research assistant and is also working on a PhD entitled ‘Knowing Support Work: Resonance, Vibration, Touch’, which brings together applied theatre practice and inclusive research methodologies to explore support work in learning disability settings. In her spare time, she enjoys astrology, juggling and cuddling other people’s dogs.

Jez Coram

Jez has worked in the Third Sector in Leeds for 10 years, currently as Development Worker for Learning Disabilities at Volition, delivering the Forum Central contract. Before this he worked for a national learning disability charity, CHANGE. Jez is also researching an art and film based PhD at Newcastle University. In his spare time Jez enjoys life with his wife, two very small children and medium size dog.
