Current Work
At Purple Patch, we do learning differently. Whether we’re exploring new topics in our Lifelong Learning Programmes, supporting people through change in Move On Up, bringing the wider world to life in Beyond Ramps, or making new discoveries with the Purple Research Group, learning with Purple Patch Arts is always fun, creative and hands on.
As well as delivering our own programmes, we regularly partner with day services, supported living providers, libraries, universities, schools and other organisations to deliver projects that meet specific outcomes. We also provide specialist training, consultancy and workshop delivery to support other organisations to enhance their work for learning-disabled people using the Purple Patch Approach.
Our varied work allows us to meet need, work with new people and support others. Find out more about the different strands of our work by clicking on the buttons below:
Our Lifelong Learning Programmes use the Purple Patch Approach to explore a wide range of topics each year, from myths and folklore, to space travel and the stars, to the history of Yorkshire!
With our partner schools and colleges in Leeds and Bradford, we are providing early support to young learning-disabled adults who are transitioning into adult community services.
Though we’re rooted in Yorkshire, we want to see learning-disabled people all over the world have access to creative and inclusive learning. Beyond Ramps is our offer to other organisations to help to bring their work to life and meaningfully engage with the learning-disabled community.
Our vision is that learning-disabled people are involved in all research – and we’re doing lots of work to make that happen!
Do you work with learning-disabled people, or would you like to? Our training enables you to use the Purple Patch Approach to engage, involve and inspire through arts-based and multi-sensory methods.
An opportunity for the family and carers of our Lifelong Learning Participants to participate in entertaining evenings including compelling quiz rounds, competitive bingo, and a chance to meet new people.
We’re always keen to develop new partnerships; if you have an idea of how we could work together, or for more information about our work, please get in touch.
