Katie Wlodarczyk – Project Coordinator

Pronouns – She/Her
Favourite food – Chinese food
Favourite TV show – Below Deck
Favourite song – CMAT – Have Fun!

Katie assists Róisín with the planning and delivery of our Move On Up transitions project.

Before joining Purple Patch Arts in 2025, Katie worked as a SEND teacher, supporting children and young people with a wide range of communication and learning needs. Before moving into education, she worked across the arts and social care, where she discovered a love of using creativity to help people connect, build confidence and express themselves.

Katie studied Performance Art and has a particular passion for speech, language and communication. She has trained in Makaton and is fascinated by the many different ways people understand, process and share ideas. She also devised and toured an NHS-commissioned theatre production about mental health, performing in secondary schools to spark conversation and encourage young people to talk openly about their wellbeing.

At Purple Patch, Katie loves bringing together her experience in education, creativity and communication to help create accessible, engaging experiences where everyone can find their own voice and feel confident expressing themselves.

Outside of work, Katie loves birdwatching, being outdoors and heading out to see live music whenever she can. She’ll happily sing along to a musical soundtrack at any opportunity and is always on the lookout for her next feathered friend!

I’ve learnt lots of new things, and I look forward to what we’re doing each week. I’m happy that I’m part of a group and am able to be myself at Purple Patch.

The best bit is seeing a sense of achievement in the participants as they learn, have fun and become more confident and independent.

If I didn’t have a bursary I wouldn’t be able to come, and I’m so glad that I can. It makes me happy to be part of the group.
